Why this training program is essential for freelance writers
As an editor, content curator, and media coordinator of the ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium and Substack,I love creating, teaching, learning, and interacting with others. When others are happy, I get happier. Now I am a founding member of the Substack Mastery Boost Pilot program led by Dr Mehmet Yildiz my dear mentor. I am also a guest blogger on his website digitalmehmet.
A few days ago, I wrote a story to celebrate my first 50 students on Udemy and 500 subscribers on Substack. I thought a few people would see it and have a chat about it. It had no views apart from a few friends who found it via direct links.
Then, an editor colleague said she loved it and featured it. Despite all, it did not have any views, so it looks like the algo takes everything I post and chucks them to the spam folder. So the featuring also does not seem to work. Nothing seems to work anymore here. I thought it was almost dead before, but now it looks like very dead or in a coma.
Lots of writers think like that and leave the platform. As Mike said earlier, writing on this platform is no more fun. It doesn’t feel like home for writers anymore. The amazing platforms just melted down in front of our eyes. Like many good writers, I won’t waste my time and instead will just write short blogs in case a few kind souls find them by chance.
It is a waste of my time to write long stories in this ghost town. But I guess it might still be a good blogging site. If this story gets no view, I will just shrug. There are better places to find readers.
Some readers ask me what happened “Look What Aiden Found Today” series. I still love creating those collections, but no one gets to read them because they’re automatically sent to the spam folder. It feels like Cringe just stole Christmas
Anyway, the reason I wrote this short post today is to let my friends know that now Level 3 of the From Zero to Substack Hero is available on Udemy. It is the longest one, with over four hours of video, as it was the end of the Substack Mastery book.
I created a discount voucher for it, too. So, I link them for interested readers. My goal is to provide valuable education as there are not many affordable ones, especially for beginners.
From Zero to Substack Hero — Level 1
From Zero to Substack Hero — Level 2
From Zero to Substack Hero — Level 3 NEW
I created 33 training videos and they are also available through the Content Marketing Strategy Insights. Creating and editing videos takes a lot of time, but I love doing them as my students appreciate what I do. Udemy and Substack, unlike Medium, have no algorithmic restriction. Those platforms are fair to creators.
With this inspiration, tomorrow I will upload Level 4 which includes advanced topics from the book A Powerful Toolkit for Advanced Substack Newsletter Mastery. By the end of the month, I plan to create 10 levels instead of wasting my time here.
I am very grateful to my mentor Dr Mehmet Yildiz allowing me to use his educational and inspiring Subtack books to create these courses and also use his Udemy instructor account to reach a broad audience.
Thanks for reading if you get a chance to read it. Thank you for sharing the links for interested learners. Cheers.
It looks like now ghosts read and clap our stories on this ghost town as Atif said before.
